Tonight…

Yep, it’s me. Some of you may know me as that annoying guy on WatchCrunch, but I am committed to becoming that annoying guy on The Escapement Room too. Seeing as this is my first post, I will introduce some of my upcoming posts and ideas in the form of a satirical Top-Gear-style intro. For the best effect, you should imagine “Jessica” by The Allman Brothers Band playing and read this in Jeremy Clarkson’s voice.

Tonight, I break a pen after waxing lyrical about Alfa Romeos; my other personality reads the 2005 government gazette and my other other personality overcomes the fear of loss.

Does this make sense? Probably not, but it will once these posts come out. I would like to use this post as an opportunity to thank all of the wonderful writers in this space, especially Kaysia, who was really helpful in getting me started. I hope to be a part of this community and contribute some writing that’s as thought-provoking as it is humorous and nonsensical.

Update: I have decided to publish a post every Wednesday at 12:00. I’ll try my best to adhere to this schedule, but posts can be more or less frequent depending on whatever happens in my life or in the great big world.

    1. Not yet. It’s my secret life goal to resurrect the brand, so if TER is still going in forty years, we might get some long service award Camys.
Until then, all I have to sponsor is some metaphors and paragraphs…
      Cheers!

  1. Is this pen breaking a figure of speech or was an actual pen injured? If so, I do hope it was a cheap pen, preferably ballpoint.

    1. Unfortunately not. It was a fountain pen, not a terribly expensive one, but still one very close to my heart. I dropped my Pilot Metropolitan and the nib bent. I managed to bend it back to a point where it’s virtually indistinguishable from normal, both in terms of writing and appearance.
